Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday said President Donald Trump had one frequent boast throughout his first term in office, on the campaign trail and on social media.
But he hasn’t said a word this one about lately.
“The stock market was the only thing Trump bragged about more than playing golf,” Kimmel said. “These are all tweets about how great the stock market was under him.”
As he spoke, the screen filled with tweets of all the president’s boasts about the stock market.
Trump doesn’t have much to brag about when it comes to the market right now.
Stocks on Thursday tanked amid Trump’s trade war, continuing a weeks-long plunge that’s caused major indexes to fall by 10%, which is what the market considers a “correction.”
