Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve pieced together a grim forecast for Eric Pollard’s dealings with Tracy Metcalfe, and it’s not looking promising.
Tracy has been behaving rather shadily around finances lately, hinting at her entanglement in some murky affairs. It was then disclosed that she had been stealing money from Eric on the sly.
Last week, a startling flashback sequence from before the limo crash showed Leyla Harding catching Tracy red-handed as she pilfered cash from the shop’s register.
In an admission of guilt, Tracy divulged that she was strapped for cash due to the absence of child support from her vanished ex-spouse Nate Robinson, whose death currently remains unknown to the townsfolk.
She elaborated on how her few hours at the shop had left her penniless, prompting her to begin thieving to manage her expenses – a situation that quickly spiraled out of control, reports Leeds Live.

Tracy also owned up to Leyla about having pocketed a total of £2,000 and even admitted to lying to prospective buyers to avoid losing her job.
Leyla implored her friend to come clean to Eric and confess her misdeeds, yet Tracy has disregarded the advice and persisted in stealing funds from the cash drawer.
In the episode aired on Friday night (March 14), an unsuspecting Eric took Tracy aside to discuss the shop’s accounts. He lauded her for her role in keeping the business “afloat” and proposed that she handle the bookkeeping while he tends to his bereaved grandson, Jacob.
“Your efforts to keep us afloat have not gone unnoticed,” Eric commended. “I would like you to take over all of the bookkeeping for the time being, which frees me up so I can support Jacob. I could pay you for the extra hours, for sure. But it has to be someone that I can trust.”

Yet, viewers are puzzling over Eric’s true intentions, with a portion of the audience hypothesising that he’s already privy to Tracy’s thievery and is orchestrating her downfall.
One viewer speculated in an Facebook group: “He knows I think,” while another surmised: “Maybe he’s setting her up for a fall.”
A third fan said: “So Eric a long time businessman doesn’t pay an accountant to look after his books? Leaving Tracy to look after them isn’t gonna turn out well,” paralleled by others questioning Eric’s oversight: “Surely Eric can see that 2 grand is missing from such a small shop.”
Conversely, some fans maintain that Eric is genuinely oblivious to Tracy’s misdemeanours, with one asserting: “Tracy is like a daughter to him, so why would he not trust her? She is the one who should be ashamed of herself. Poor Eric is going to be devastated when he finds out she has been robbing him blind.”
