We’ve reached the business end of the campaign, which also means it’s the final few weeks of the season. Just 10 matches remain for 2024/25, with 16 of the division’s 20 teams in action this weekend.

Ahead of GW29, Express Sport have taken a look at the biggest injury risks for this weekend’s Premier League action.

It’s been a dismal couple of weeks for , whose blank in midweek against Copenhagen meant his goal drought extended to 10 matches. He missed a penalty last time out in the Premier League against Leicester City, with revealing he had been battling illness ahead of the tie.

However, with the visit to on the horizon this weekend, expect Maresca to field his strongest XI, Palmer included.

Jean-Philippe Mateta

Jean-Philippe Mateta with Millwall’s Liam Roberts earlier this week – a collision that left the Crystal Palace striker hospitalised. However, he won’t be involved this weekend as the Eagles don’t have a scheduled match.

They had been due to play United, but the match had to be moved after the Magpies reached the League Cup final.

It would’ve been a similar case for , with set to take on in the Wembley showpiece. However, the Englishman won’t be involved in any action this weekend after he suffered a nasty injury against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

Dejan Kulusevski

One of the bright sparks for this season has been the form of Dejan Kulusevski, who, despite Spurs’ woes, has registered 10 goals and 10 assists across all competitions. But, after picking up a foot injury, the Swede hasn’t featured in either of ’s previous three matches.

According to , Kulusevski isn’t expected to return until the end of the month. He said: “Like I said before, post-international break we expect him to sort of start to move back towards the team.”

Malo Gusto

Subbed off in the first half of ’s first-leg clash against Copenhagen, Malo Gusto hasn’t been since and remains a doubt for the clash. The right-back is suffering from an ankle problem, but given his struggles of late, is unlikely to be in the starting XI.

Instead, the returning Wesley Fofana deputised for Gusto at right-back against Leicester and could operate in the same role again this weekend.
