England trophy ceremony to happen in empty stadium if they win Six Nations title

Steve Borthwick’s will head back to the Principality Stadium late on Saturday to pick up the trophy – if they win it for the first time since 2020. France, England and Ireland are contending to win the title with the French firm favourites knowing a win against Scotland leaves them top of the table.

But England face Wales before that game and a bonus point win with France slipping up in Paris would hand them the spoils. They can pile the pressure on the French by winning stfongly in Cardiff. Ireland need a huge win in Italy and for things to go their way in the other two games.

The Six Nations trophy will be at Stade de France with a replica in Cardiff. England will return to their team hotel near Cardiff Bay after their clash with Wales to watch the final game.

But if things are like swinging in their favour in the Scotland game, they will jump back on the bus, for the 15-minute ride back to the ground to pick up the pot live on TV at around 10pm.

If, as expected, Fabien Galthie’s men triumph in bonus-point fashion, France will receive the Six Nations trophy on the field at the Stade de France.

Ireland open the day’s action when they face Italy at the Stadio Olimpico and will be at the post-match function as events in Cardiff and Paris unfold.

As a result, their trophy presentation if things go their way would take place in Dublin on Sunday. However, they would receive their winners medals in Rome.
