Tragic Five Star icon Stedman Pearson’s cause of death announced after legend dies at 60

Five Star singer Stedman Pearson as his family announced the tragic news. The singer’s sister and fellow band member Deniece Pearson confirmed the star’s cause of death. Speaking to PA News agency, she said, “He died on March 10, he was on dialysis and he had diabetes.” The family also shared a heartbreaking statement as they mourn the loss of their sibling.

They said: “He was a gentleman to the very end – in every way and an amazing son/brother and uncle. May the memories and love he gave to us and the world be our greatest comfort. He will be deeply missed.” Five Star band member Lorraine also paid tribute to her brother and said on social media: “RIP Stedman Pearson from Five Star”, along with a heart emoji.

Stedman was most known for being a part of British pop group Five Star, where he performed alongside his siblings Deniece, Lorraine, Doris, and Delroy Pearson.

Their outfits and choreographed dance routines drew comparisons to The Jackson 5.

Five Star released their debut album Luxury Of Life in 1985, and followed this up with Silk And Steel in 1986 – which topped the UK albums chart.

In September 2006, Stedman appeared on The All Star Talent Show on Channel 5, and placed third after showcasing his ballet skills.

In 2008, he starred in Three reality show Celebrity Scissorhands, which involved celebrities attempting to cut people’s hair to raise money for Children In Need.

He also appeared on comedy TV show Never Mind The Buzzcocks in a segment where the panellists had to select the singer from a line-up of look-a-likes.
