With highly anticipated Las Vegas show attracting huge demand, some ticket holders are turning to social media to sell their high-priced seats at a premium, hoping to make a profit from eager fans scrambling for last-minute tickets. Sin City gets one last taste of Sir Rod’s magic as the music icon embarks on the final leg of his 13-year Las Vegas residency. The Encore Shows will feature 12 unforgettable performances across March, May, and June, with the first show kicking off on Wednesday (March 12).

But some fans are seizing the moment, selling their tickets for sky-high prices as demand for Rod Stewart’s first show takes off. Taking to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, several accounts posted offers to buy tickets ahead of the big show. “Anyone interested I’ve got ROD STEWART tickets for tonight show!!! Venue: Caesars Palace – Las Vegas, NV Text me if you’re interested please! Am happy to show proof of my ticket.”

Another penned: “Hi I have 3 tickets available for tonight’s Rod Stewart Concert at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV (Wed, Mar 12) Please send me a DM if interested. I’m looking to get them off my hands either individually or together,”

Rod Stewart, best known for hits like Maggie May, is one of the longest-running performers at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace, having first signed a lucrative residency deal in 2011. Originally set for just 18 shows, overwhelming demand led to multiple extensions, and this year, he will mark a historic milestone—his 200th performance on the iconic Vegas stage.

The rock legend is not only one of the longest-running performers in Las Vegas history but is also believed to be one of the to grace the Strip.

According to reports, Rod Stewart’s 2011 contract outlined a staggering $50 million (£39 million) deal for just 18 shows, averaging a jaw-dropping $2.7 million (£2 million) per performance.

Rod was originally scheduled to perform his final Las Vegas shows last year but was forced to withdraw at the last minute due to health concerns. The rock icon had already completed seven dates of his The Hits show before abruptly cancelling the remainder of the run after being diagnosed with strep throat.

At the time, he took to to share his disappointment, writing:“I’m desperately sorry to miss the 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted.”

Rod also revealed he is stepping away from large-scale world tours altogether. In November, he confirmed:“This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do, and I do what I love. I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds at the jolly age of 79.”

He added that he will still be performing in “smaller, more intimate venues.”
