It looks like the long-rumoured Oblivion remake will make its debut in the next couple of months.
, the iconic Bethesda role-playing game is being remade in Unreal Engine 5 by development studio Virtuous.
While the game was previously tipped to launch in June, new reports suggest it will make its debut for , |S and PC even sooner than expected.
According to industry insider , the Elder Scrolls Oblivion remake will be revealed in March or April, and will launch ahead of its original June target.
Asked on X when fans could expect the official Oblivion announcement, NateTheHate said: “Either this month or next month.
“Release is likely to be sooner than the original June target; but still working to get details on an updated release date.”
This means the Oblivion could launch as early as March, but is more likely to release in either April or May.
With the Nintendo Switch 2 launching this summer, fingers crossed we also get a Nintendo port.
Elder Scrolls Oblivion arguably put the series on the map, attracting a more mainstream audience following its release on Xbox 360.
It also contains one of gaming’s most iconic moments, as players exit the sewers and step into the Oblivion’s stunning open world for the very first time.
Bethesda explains more: “Step inside the most richly detailed and vibrant game-world ever created. Oblivion is the latest chapter in the epic Elder Scrolls saga.
“With a powerful combination of freeform gameplay and unprecedented graphics, you can unravel the main quest at your own pace or explore the vast world and find your own challenges.”
It’s unclear if the Oblivion remake will include the Knights of the Nine or Shivering Isles expansions, so we’ll have to wait and see.
