The iconic pig-shaped sweet treat known for its fruity flavour is over 30 years old though its price has significantly climbed since it first appeared in stores. have been a bestseller for several decades now and over the years, new flavours, variations, and characters have been released. M&S sells 18.7m bags of every year- meaning that 36 bags of the chewy sweets are sold every minute.

However, the cost of the beloved sweet has once again increased, now costing £2 for a 170g bag- up from £1.90 in 2024 and from £1.50 in 2017, the Sun reported. Rosie Campbell, 18, told the : “No way is it £2 for a packet of sweets. They are not worth that. They have to make their profit but they’re taking the mick.

“Parents will have to say no to their children because of the prices.”

Kieran Dinsdale, also told the Sun: “They are lovely but they aren’t worth that.

“I would have to share a packet instead of buying one myself. They should have never ever put the prices up. I grew up on them. They should be 25p. It’s just inflation, isn’t it?”
