Man Utd ‘wanted to make Marcus Rashford gesture’ but were blocked by Arsenal and PSR

reportedly wanted to sign a ‘big brother’ for only months before palming him off to . Murmurings of concern around Rashford’s lifestyle off the pitch seemingly sparked Old Trafford bosses into action, although their plan was eventually foiled.

All three are believed to have vouched for Sterling as a potential ‘big brother figure’ to Rashford, who is three years his junior.

However, United’s proximity to PSR limits dissuaded them from pressing ahead with the move, which would have forced them to cover a healthy proportion of Sterling’s massive wages.
