A savvy home and recipe developer detailed her quick and easy flatbread packed full of delicious ingredients to uplift any midweek meal. Amy Sheppard guarantees her will make “every dinner better”.

In a recent video, Amy demonstrated just how easy it is to whip up a flatbread with ingredients she already had in her cupboards. Her packs the flatbreads full of flavour with garlic and gouda cheese, but you can also skip the dairy if you want to. Amy said: “They take five minutes to throw together. It’s made from ingredients you’ve probably already got, and they make every single dinner better.

“Have them with chilli or soup or bolognese, they freeze like an absolute dream, and if you don’t want to add cheese, they are still so good without. So if you’re tired of garlic bread that burns on the outside with the butter inside still frozen, you need to try these.”

The link to pre-order is in my profile The recipe is below if you want to give them a try, A x Makes 4 200g of plain flour 1tsp sugar 1tsp salt 1tsp baking powder Ground black pepper 1 tbls olive oil 120ml milk 4 slices of gouda 50g butter 1 tsp garlic paste 1 tsp dried parsley Place all the ingredients except for the cheese into a mixing bowl. Stir until it’s combined into a dough. Gently knead on a floured surface for a minute, before dividing into 4 equal sized balls. Roll the dough balls out as thinly as you can. Cut a slice of gouda into quarters and arrange it on one half of the dough. Fold the dough over so the cheese is inside and roll out the edges so the cheese is roughly in the centre. Place the butter, garlic paste and parsley into a small bowl. Microwave until just melted Heat a frying pan or griddle (no oil) until hot. Use a pastry brush to paint both sides of the bread with the butter. Fry each one in a hot pan for 2 minutes on a medium to low heat on each side or until golden brown. Once out of the pan, brush with a little more butter and serve

Cheesy Garlic Flatbreads

Ingredients

  • 200g of plain flour
  • 1tsp sugar
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 120ml milk
  • 4 slices of gouda
  • 50g butter
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Method

Place all the ingredients except for the cheese into a mixing bowl. Stir until it’s combined into a dough.

Gently knead on a floured surface for a minute, before dividing into four equal sized balls. Roll the dough balls out as thinly as you can.

Cut a slice of gouda into quarters and arrange it on one half of the dough. Fold the dough over so the cheese is inside and roll out the edges so the cheese is roughly in the centre.

Place the butter, garlic paste and parsley into a small bowl. Microwave until just melted.

Heat a frying pan or griddle (no oil) until hot. Use a pastry brush to paint both sides of the bread with the butter.

Fry each one in a hot pan for two minutes on a medium to low heat on each side or until golden brown. Once out of the pan, brush with a little more butter and serve.
