was dubbed “annoying” by the Sky Sports commentary team after his emphatic showings on night six of the Premier League. The Nuke reached his fourth final of the season so far with wins over Luke Humphries and Rob Cross.

Littler was in typically impressive form en route to the final against Gerwyn Price, , respectively.

Having despatched world No.1 Humphries in the opening match, Littler upped the ante in his semi-final against Cross, with his finishing in particular catching the eyes of the commentators. Rodd Studd, who was describing the match for Sky Sports, responded: “He’s annoying because he makes it [taking out the big finishes] look so easy.”

John Part, who won three World Championship titles, later chimed in by claiming – tongue firmly in cheek – Littler was: “Ruining it for everyone,” because he is so good.

Discussing his form ahead of the night’s final in Nottingham, Wayne Mardle said on the Sky Sports broadcast: “He makes it look simple and he does it again and again. This isn’t kind of a one-off. If it isn’t a 170 or a 167 [checkout], it’s a 164. There was a 124 in there, too.”

Part, who was on stage alongside Mardle and Sky Sports host Emma Paton, added: “It becomes obscene, you can’t stomach it if you’re the opposition. You want to punch him or something.”

Paton clarified that Part’s words weren’t an instruction to players, and Mardle picked up the pieces: “When you are playing here [in the Premier League arenas] and you know how difficult the sport is, he’s making it look ridiculously easy. He’s got to enjoy this [being so good], doing it again and again.”

Elsewhere on night six of the Premier League, Stephen Bunting’s woeful form continued as he made it six consecutive weeks without a win of any kind.
