Jeremy Clarkson shares ‘scarily expensive’ farm update at Diddly Squat

has issued a new update about his Diddly Squat farm, labeling it “scarily expensive.” The former host posted a photo on his official account of a modern combine harvester in a field during a sunset on his beloved farm.

He penned: “Finished planting the for this year. First time we’ve done it this way. Scarily expensive but mesmerising to watch.” Hawkstone is Jeremy’s brewery which he set up using his own barley from his crops and is brewed by Cotswold Brewing Co.

Many of his followers flooded the comments section with remarks about the harvester, which appeared to be driving automatically without a person operating it. One fan said: “Is that a robot farming? Are you controlling it, or did you just set the parameters and watch it go, or do I have to wait for Clarksons Farm 4 to find out?”

A second person echoed: “Oh my god, I’ve never seen a tractor robot before, what a beast,” as another person commented: “Is it road legal and can you drive in London with it ?”

When Jeremy initially set up his lager brand, he experienced a number of issues. In 2023, he sent a warning to consumers that some bottles of his cider “might explode”.

Sharing in a tweet in July 2023, he said: “There’s been a massive c**k up and as a result, there’s a very slim chance, some of our Hawkstone CIDER bottles might, there’s no easy way of saying this, explode.”

He then urged buyers to pour away the damaged bottles and request a refund: “If the cap has the code L3160, open it underwater, pour it away and get in touch for a refund. [email protected].

“Really sorry about this but on the upside, the beer is fine and still delicious. As is the cider, in bottles that are unaffected. Which is almost all of them.”

In addition to owning Hawkstone Brewery, Jeremy opened his new pub, The Farmer’s Dog, last summer near his Diddly Squat farm. The 64-year-old farmer and TV presenter announced that it would open in August but issued a stern warning to visitors.

He penned online: “But PLEASE use the main roads.” In previous years, Diddly Squat has experienced issues with parking and visitors have left their cars on both sides of the verges, not allowing space for cars to drive past.

Earlier in 2024, there were reports of The Coach and Horses, which is located opposite his Hawkstone Brewery.

At the same time, the Cotswold District Council approved a new premises licence for The Coach and Horses. The licence also allows live music to be played outside until 9 p.m. and allows the sale of alcohol seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.

According to the , the pub needed an investment of £750,000 due to its “poor state.” It is understood that there was a “hole in the roof,” and the pub’s agent said in a licencing meeting in February that they would like a new tenant.
