Dave Mallow, best known for his role as the villain Baboo in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has tragically died at the age of 76.
Mallow’s portrayal of Baboo, one of Rita Repulsa’s henchmen in the popular 90s series, made him a beloved figure among fans. In addition to Power Rangers, Dave also lent his voice to various video game characters, including roles in the Warcraft series and Digimon: Digital Monsters, demonstrating his versatile voice acting career.
TMZ reports confirm that Dave passed away on Tuesday while in hospice care at the MonteCedro Senior Living Community in California.
A source close to the actor revealed that his health had been steadily declining in recent years.
In addition to his acting work, Mallow was also a talented writer and director, contributing to several anime projects throughout his career, reports .

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, filmed from 1993 to 1995, ran for three seasons, with the first episode airing in August 1993. It became a major success and sparked numerous spin-offs and adaptations in the years that followed.
A former colleague disclosed that Dave’s health had been deteriorating over the past few years, and although the news of his death was saddening, it wasn’t entirely unexpected.

Dave leaves behind his older sister Marilyn, with whom he shared a home at the senior community MonteCedro. Having stepped back from his professional career in 2019, Mallow left an indelible mark on fans through his distinctive voice work in shows like Power Rangers and the English adaptation of Digimon, not to mention his involvement in anime as both a writer and director.
He is also remembered for lending his voice to characters in world-renowned video games including World of Warcraft: Legion, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, and Diablo III. His journey began after graduating from Maine South High School, followed by obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts from Drake University in 1970.
Mallow then embarked on a fruitful tenure as a radio host before relocating to Los Angeles in 1984 to advance his voice acting pursuits.
His versatile career spanned across various domains including commercials, film dubbing, looping, infomercials, narration, and voice roles for numerous animated shows and video games. Dave’s unique voice was featured in films such as Nixon, Eraser, The Waterboy, The Yards, Baseketball, and The Siege, as well as on TV in popular shows like Everybody Loves Raymond and Roseanne.
He also provided his voice for high-profile commercials for brands such as Bud Ice, Lexus, Energizer, Visa, and IHOP.
