President Donald Trump slammed NBC as “one of the worst networks on television” during an Oval Office rant on Wednesday, only to be reminded of his own years-long association with the media organization.
While speaking to the press with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Trump was asked by a reporter from NBC about “inconsistency” in his economic agenda, particularly with his “on and off” tariffs that have been blamed for plunging stock markets and causing widespread uncertainty for businesses.
“There is no inconsistency,” the president hit back, before aiming his ire on the network. “Only with NBC, which is one of the worst networks on television, by the way,” Trump snarked.
But the reporter quickly reminded Trump, “It was your home for a long time.”
Indeed, Trump for years hosted the reality business show “The Apprentice” on NBC, a program credited with helping him become a household name and laying the groundwork for his political career.

Trump, however, ignored the reminder and continued with his defense, saying he has “the right to adjust” and that he’s just being “flexible” rather than inconsistent.
