Rosie O’Donnell Names Her 1 Condition For Returning To America After Ireland Move

Rosie O’Donnell took to social media on Tuesday to reveal that she’s moved from the U.S. to Ireland and, so far, her time there has been “pretty wonderful.”

The comedian — who famously feuded with Donald Trumpshared a lengthy TikTok video where she noted that she moved to Ireland with her daughter Dakota on Jan. 15, less than a week before the start of the president’s second term.

“I miss many things about life there at home and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” said O’Donnell, who teased the move last week on her now-private Instagram page.

O’Donnell — who noted that she’s in the process of obtaining Irish citizenship in the TikTok video — said people in the country have been “so loving,” “so kind” and “so welcoming.”

Her move comes after she revealed that her beachfront home in Malibu was “gone” while a separate, rental home in Santa Monica was “OK” after wildfires tore through the Los Angeles area in January.

The comedian said she never thought she’d move to another country but ultimately decided that it was best for her and her child, adding that the two were “happy” despite missing her other children and her friends.

Without naming Trump, she also weighed in on the country’s political landscape.

“It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically and hard for me personally, as well,” said O’Donnell, who slammed Trump’s Time Magazine cover back in December.

“The personal is political, as we all know.”

O’Donnell joins a number of celebrities who have left the U.S. over the past few months including Ellen Degeneres, Richard Gere and Eva Longoria.

Later in the TikTok video, she encouraged her U.S. followers to speak out and “demand that we follow the Constitution in our country.”

“And not a king, not a man and we don’t have cruelty as part of our governing style,” O’Donnell added.

She later continued, “I think about everyone every day and the United States of America and I am hoping that we can turn things around. Counting on you, all of you, to do what’s right and I think deep down inside, we all know what that is.”
