Millie Bobby Brown and husband Jake Bongiovi are in their “trad” era.
“The Electric State” star was a guest on the latest episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, where host Alex Cooper touched on the actor’s “abundance of animals” and life on her farm.
It takes a lot of work to maintain 25 farm animals, 10 dogs, four cats and 23 additional foster dogs that live on the sanctuary. So when Cooper asked Brown how it feels to see people online saying she’s in her “tradwife” era, the actor noted that would mean Bongiovi is in his “tradhusband” era as well.
The “tradwife” movement centers around the thought of being a traditional wife, or housewife, leaning more towards homemaking instead of being in the workforce.
The concept has become more popular in recent years as women show off their “tradwife” life on TikTok and social media, cooking, cleaning and taking care of their husband and children. A “tradhusband,” might be a less familiar term, yet could be applied to a “stay-at-home”-type husband.
“I get it. I understand why they would say that because I am actually, like, I have chickens, I get the eggs. I know what it looks like from afar,” Brown said, noting she did get married young, “veering in” the “trad-wife” direction.
Except, she said, “I love my job. I love being untraditional and unconventional in so many ways of my life.”
“I love being on a farm, and Jake does, too. So like, that would then make him a ‘tradhusband,’” she joked.
Brown and Bongiovi have been married since 2024 and share small snippets of their lives on social media.
The “Stranger Things” star continued to explain how else she might fall on the “tradwife” scale, sharing that she loves to be in the kitchen.
“I cook every night. This is the problem, I know,” she said. “Cooking is, that’s where I find I can put all my anxiety into cooking. And I’m really, really good.”
Brown shared that she makes a variety of dishes for herself and husband, including steak frites, paella and a traditional British roast dinner “every Sunday.”
“I do take my cooking very serious,” Brown continued, adding they have taco Tuesday night and she meal preps every Sunday.
