Michael Douglas makes dig at Trump as he makes huge career announcement

icon Michael Douglas has queried the USA’s new friendship with as he marks two significant anniversaries. President , 78, appears to have formed a contentious friendship with Russian leader , 72 and he has been brokering peace talks for . The 80-year-old Oscar winner, who is married to Catherine Zeta Jones, took to for the first time since Janary 11 to share his thoughts on the union.

“I feel like a bear [who was] in hibernation and I’ve come out and it’s like a new world out there. We’re allies with the Russians?” he questioned. I thought they had been trying to destroy us for the last 75 years,” he pondered. Rather than dwell on the fact he continued to share two important annversaries with his fans. He didn’t reference , who produced his hit movie Fatal Attraction and died on Monday, but rather focused on two of his other movies.

Changing the subject he said: “Anyway, I just want to blow my own horn for a second. This year is the 50th anniversary of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, written by Ken Kesey. (The film) was directed by Milos Forman. Lovely movie.

“If you haven’t had a chance to read the book or see the picture. I would really encourage it.

“And another one is a lot younger. 25th anniversary is Wonder Boys, which was written by Michael Chabon and (the film was) directed by Curtis Hanson.

“(It’s) one of my particular favourites and not seen by that many people. So if you like seeing… reading a couple of good books, then seeing a couple of good movies Cuckoo’s Nest, and Wonder Boys. Could be worse,” he said.

Michael won his first Oscar for his work producing 1975’s Jack Nicholson starring One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest which took home the award for Best Picture. He also won the Best Actor Oscar in 1988 for his work onthe movie Wall Street where he played Gordon Gekko.

Although he wasn’t nominatd for Wonder Boys it did receive three Academy Award nominations. The films sees him play professor Grady Tripp, a novelist who teaches creative writing at a university but has ben suffering writers block attempting to finish his second novel.

Michael reportedly took well below his usual fee in order to get the quirky, character-driven comedy drama made.

He also gained 25 pounds for the film by consuming pizza, subs, and beer
