‘s former celebrity ally has now distanced herself from the actress-turned-royal. Katherine Ryan, who was once a staunch supporter of the Duchess of Sussex, had previously praised Meghan’s role in the Royal Family, stating: “I love ‘s voice and her confidence to challenge the norm and what’s expected of her in that role.” However, following the launch of Meghan’s new series With Love, Katherine has been forthright about her feelings towards Meghan, accusing her of “lying” about her knowledge of . Katherine also suggested that Meghan was putting on a very “manicured” and “forced” performance, as she criticised the star.
On her podcast, Telling Everybody Everything, she expressed: “I liked . I was rooting for … though she is very – even for me – and I don’t like that in people. I see now, and maybe it’s just the projects she’s choosing, it does feel like she has lied about whether she knew who was, and these details about her childhood change and don’t add up. She said on her new show that they ate TV dinners growing up. But then in an old interview, she was like, “we would eat farm fresh”. Her whole act just seems very manicured and very forced”, reports .

Meghan’s series debuted earlier this month, but it received a barrage of criticism from viewers, who slammed the costly recipes, and even her own father accused her of being “inauthentic”.
A crew member working on Meghan’s series revealed a behind-the-scenes perspective to People magazine: “She made sure everyone felt included, from executives to our director to every PA on set. No one was left out.
“Most of the time, we’re expected to fade into the background, to be invisible. But in this show, we were part of it. We were included. It was a very unique and refreshing experience.”
Meghan herself reflected on the atmosphere on set saying, “It feels as though we’re just spending time together, which is what it ended up being. I’d make a and say, ‘Everyone try this,’ and there are certain dishes where you just watch everyone flock in. I’d say, ‘We’ve run out of spoons!’ It ended up feeling so communal, and that’s the spirit of the show.”
The programme has been given the green light for a second series by . In a memorable moment from the first series, Meghan emphasised her new identity to her friend Mindy: “You keep saying, , you know, I’m Sussex now. You have kids, and you go, ‘now I share my name with my children’… I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go ‘this is our family name, our little family name.'”.
