The popular series Yellowstone may have concluded, but its universe continues to expand with the arrival of one of its first spin-offs on .
Four out of five seasons of the original blockbuster series are already included on the platform in the UK, and now it has expanded its catalogue even further.
Initially exclusive to Paramount+, 1883 has now been added to ‘s ever-evolving collection.
Taylor Sheridan, the writer, actor and showrunner, has developed his creation into a colossal entity encompassing multiple narratives spanning generations of characters and boasting impressive cast lists.
However, with the growing number of spin-offs, sequels and prequels, fans might question if there was ever intended to be a sequel to the first season of 1883, which premiered in 2021.

Recognised as the first official spin-off, the show provides an origin story for the broader Yellowstone universe.
The series traces the post-Civil War generation of the Dutton family as they depart from Tennessee, travel to Fort Worth, Texas, join a wagon train embarking on the challenging journey west to Oregon, before settling in Montana to establish what would eventually become the Yellowstone Ranch.
The cast is led by Sam Elliott, known for A Star Is Born and Hulk, and he is accompanied by real-life couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill who portray this early generation of the Duttons.

According to Slash Film, Sheridan had only several months to pen and produce the entire series so that Paramount could showcase it for the premiere of their new streaming service. Hence, it’s understandable why he chose to keep the narrative concise.
Despite earlier announcements in February 2022 by Paramount suggesting “additional episodes” following the first season, they ultimately backtracked on this decision. Sheridan views 1883 as “a 10-hour movie with an ending”.
Fans, nonetheless, continue to clamour for further instalments, with one enthusing online: “I LOVE THIS SHOW! Wish there were more seasons!” Another complimented: “Fantastic! Brilliantly put together with great acting and a storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Best series I’ve watched for a long time.”
For now, fans must content themselves with the lone season of 1883 available on , but rest assured, the Yellowstone universe is far from concluded. A slew of spin-offs is being rolled out, with 1923’s second season underway and a post-Yellowstone sequel called 1944 en route.
Another offshoot, 6666, will concentrate on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas. Additionally, rumblings about a project potentially continuing the Yellowstone saga with Michelle Pfeiffer at the helm, named The Madison, have piqued considerable interest.
