Police in Kamloops seize firearms

Police officers were called out to the 800-block of Sherbrooke Avenue Friday afternoon, where a person was allegedly making threats and firearms were present, Kamloops RCMP officers said Wednesday.

At about 1:15 p.m., officers attended the residence and arrested a man.

Police seized several firearms, most of which were air guns. One person was arrested but later released.

Drugs, baton seized near Kamloops

Police near Kamloops seized illegal drugs and a weapon on Sunday, RCMP said Wednesday.

At about 1:15 a.m., a Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP front line officer was driving by a gas station when he recognized a vehicle reported to have fled from police.

RCMP say when the driver was out of the vehicle, the officer allegedly saw illegal drugs in the car. One person was arrested.

Police seized about 18 grams of suspected fentanyl, morphine pills, an extendable baton, and paraphernalia used in drug trafficking.

Police in Oak Bay investigate wine theft

Oak Bay Police on Vancouver Island are investigating after thieves stole about $1,000 worth of wine from a liquor store in the 2100-block of Oak Bay Avenue.

Police allege a man and a woman worked together to distract staff last Wednesday while they stole the wine.

Anyone who may have witnessed this crime is asked to call the Oak Bay Police.
