The Chase fans disappointed as they issue same complaint about ITV show

ITV’s The Chase viewers were on the verge of switching off as they criticised the conservative strategy adopted by the contestants.

The beloved quiz show, fronted by television favourite Bradley Walsh, returned with fresh faces on Tuesday (March 11), eager to take on the cerebral challenge.

However, the episode failed to captivate audiences who found themselves “bored” due to the contestants’ apparent reluctance to risk high-stakes gameplay against chaser Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis.

Even though ‘The Menace’ laid out alluring high offers for grabs, courage seemed in short supply amongst the competitors, leading to viewer frustration back at home.

Following Andrew’s decision to stick with his £4,000 winnings, fans stormed social media platform X to voice their discontent, reports .

One irritated fan exclaimed: “Well that episode was boring! Only £4K each! That’s not much for a once in a lifetime opportunity! Why can’t anybody go high? You should at least expect a £10K win each person at least!”.

Another lamented: “This episode is once again boring with nobody taking the High Offer!”.

A different bystander commented: “Why does every contestant say you’re good enough to go for the top offer, but we need you back, so go for the middle one. Isn’t that really saying they don’t think they’re good enough to go high.”

Echoing a common sentiment, yet another added: “Every Day: ‘Get yourself back, we need you for the final chase. Take the middle offer.'”.

Despite contestants seemingly taking the path of least resistance, their strategy didn’t pay off in the final chase.

Andrew, Nicola, and Ryan rallied in the finale to face Darragh, racking up an impressive fifteen correct answers between them.

But even as ‘The Menace’ encountered difficulties, the trio couldn’t surpass the Chaser and claim their hefty £12,000 prize pot.

One viewer expressed frustration over their tactics on social media: “Goodness sake. So many opportunities to push back, they would have had a chance if they had got them right.”

As for Gail, the third contestant who was sent packing earlier on, another viewer commented: “So, three of them can’t set The Chaser a decent target, but it’s all *Gail’s* fault, for not being there ..”

The Chase airs Mondays to Fridays at 5pm on ITV1
