minority shareholder called out Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana, Jadon Sancho and Antony on Monday as he insisted the Red Devils are still paying the players’ transfer fees. And the INEOS boss could save himself £79million in wages alone if he ships all five of the stars out the door this summer.

Sancho and Antony have already headed through the Old Trafford exit, albeit on loan, while United chiefs may be hoping Casemiro agrees to move on at the end of the campaign. Onana and Hojlund have also faltered since moving to England and could be convinced to leave the club to allow Ratcliffe to rebuild.

Ratcliffe outlined his Old Trafford concerns during a wide-ranging interview with as he insisted some United players were “overpaid” and “not good enough” to be at the club.

He then stated: “If you look at the players we are buying this summer, that we didn’t buy, we’re buying Antony, we’re buying Casemiro, we’re buying Onana, we’re buying Hojlund, we’re buying Sancho.

“These are all things from the past, whether we like it or not – we’ve inherited those things and have to sort that out. For Sancho, who now plays for and we pay half his wages, we’re paying £17m to buy him in the summer.”

According to , Casemiro is the highest-paid of those five players as he currently picks up weekly wages of £350,000. Antony earns 200,000 per week, while Jadon Sancho netted himself a contract worth £150,000 per week when he joined the club.

Onana is handed £120,000 every week for his endeavours, with Hojlund earning a mere £85,000 for seven days of work.

From July onwards, Casemiro would still be in line to earn £18.2million at Old Trafford as his contract doesn’t expire until 2026. Sancho is also out of contract at the end of next season and would pick up an extra £7.8m if he sees out his current deal with the club.

Antony has two more years remaining on his contract, which means he can still earn another £20.8m if he lets his Old Trafford deal run down.

Meanwhile, Hojlund and Onana are contracted to the club until 2028, which means they could cost the Red Devils another £13.26m and £18.72m respectively in wages.

Ratcliffe could decide he’s had enough of all five players and thrash out deals to sell them to willing suitors as soon as he can. That would save him a fortune and would allow him to reinvest elsewhere.
