Emmerdale’s Marlon Dingle actor Mark Charnock admits ‘huge regret’ after ‘crushing’ news

Emmerdale’s Mark Charnock has given fans a glimpse into what lies ahead for his character, , following his drastic attempt to sever the friendship between his daughter April Windsor and her friend Dylan, which took a devastating twist.

In recent episodes of the ITV soap, Marlon intervened to end his daughter’s new friendship, without fully considering the potential consequences.

Since April (Amelia Flanagan) returned after disappearing on Christmas Day, Marlon has been grappling with her reluctance to fully disclose her experiences living on the streets.

April has been somewhat distant from her father, feeling that he wouldn’t understand her situation and often finding his attention suffocating.

In an effort to rebuild their relationship, Marlon allowed April’s street friend Dylan (Fred Kettle) to stay over. Initially, it was meant to be a one-night arrangement, but Marlon later told April that Dylan could remain until he had overcome his spice addiction.

The couple quickly deduced that Dylan was the likely culprit, leading to a tense confrontation at home.

Despite Dylan’s insistence on his innocence, the drugs were found hidden in his pockets, reports Leicestershire Live. Dylan was sent away, but Marlon soon received a distressing call informing him that Dylan had been hospitalised after a suspected overdose. Marlon quickly confessed that he had set Dylan up in an attempt to keep him away from April.

“When the kids come back, that’s when the next incredibly equally difficult second act begins .You’ve had the horror of them not being there, you find them and now it’s the indescribable confusion trying to understand what they are now, which is a different person to when they left the house.” How will April react to her dad being the real reason Dylan got thrown out?
