In the latest episode of one buyer was left utterly astounded. During Tuesday’s instalment, presenter Alistair Appleton was tasked with aiding a family in their move from Kent to Devon.
The audience met Liz, her husband Dennis and their daughter Jo, who felt it was time for a change of scenery due to Dennis’ dementia.
Jo revealed: “We’ve got strong ties with Devon, we’ve been coming on family holidays here for a long time. I think dad will still have a bit of his soul will still have some kind of connection here.”
With a hefty budget of £875,000, the family were on the hunt for a three-bedroom home with at least three acres of land for their horses and space for business potential.
Before embarking on the search, Alistair emphasised the significance of the move. He stated: “This is going to be a big move for Liz and Jo, but also, I think it is great for them as a family. Finding somewhere for Dennis to be comfortable and happy in this county that I think he really loves is great.”

As the hunt commenced, the second property Alistair introduced to the pair was located in Lydford. Even before entering the house, Jo was immediately captivated, reports
Upon noticing the views of a castle perched on a nearby hill, Alistair pointed out the other picturesque sights, adding: “Also stunning, looking right across into Dartmoor.”
Describing the idyllic setting, the host remarked: “It’s a really quiet, tucked-away country residence. Just 50 metres down the road, there’s a bridle path that takes you right across the moors.”

Jo was immediately captivated, exclaiming: “I’m sold!” Their admiration only grew as they toured the property and took in the stunning vistas.
Liz was enchanted by the scenery, saying: “The place just blows you away. It’s full of atmosphere.” The revelation of the £725,000 price tag left them astonished.
“You’re joking? ! Oh, wow. Oh yes,” Liz reacted with surprise and delight. Ultimately, the Lydford property had clearly captured their affection.

In conversation with Alistair, Liz revealed: “It’s house number two that’s the clear winner. It all boils down to whether we can get more land, further land for the horse and the potential to flower-farm and be more self-sufficient.”
audiences learned that the family did look into acquiring additional land but to no avail. Alistair concluded: “They found another property in Okehampton and are in the process of buying it, we wish them all the best.”
