Susanna Reid stuns Eurovision’s Remember Monday with admission during GMB chat

Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid and Ed Balls had the chance to chat with Eurovision entrants Remember Monday during Monday’s programme.

It was announced last week that Remember Monday would carry the UK’s hopes at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, with their track What The Hell Just Happened? Featuring on Monday’s Good Morning Britain, the musical trio shared their enthusiasm for the forthcoming contest, which led 54-year-old host Susanna to exclaim, “I say this is the winner!” – a comment that left Remember Monday absolutely gobsmacked as they responded: “Oh, woah!”

Undeterred by previous letdowns, Susanna proclaimed, “I think it’s massive, I think it’s absolutely massive!” However, her co-host Ed quickly chimed in with a reality check: “Susanna, we say that every year!” to which she confidently retorted: “No we don’t, sorry, no we don’t, we really don’t!”

Meanwhile, during the conversation, GMB’s Richard Arnold probed the group about the secrets of their upcoming Eurovision act.

Group member Lauren Byrne hinted, without spilling too much, “We can’t give away all our secrets!” The trio hinted at making the most of their musical theatre experience, hinting at a dose of drama for their big performance. With their theatrical background in tow, Remember Monday aims to surpass the UK’s modest results from the last two Eurovision seasons when they take the stage in Basel, Switzerland, come May.

Remember Monday have expressed their shock and excitement about being the first girl band to represent the nation since 1999. The trio commented: “What The Hell Just Happened? is exactly how we’re feeling right now. It’s all very surreal; our friendship goes so far back, and we definitely never imagined that we’d be doing anything like this.”

Remember Monday is raring to bring flair to the competition by stating: “We’re going to be the first girl band to represent the UK since 1999, which feels like such a crazy honour. We’re going to bring loads of fun, energy and hopefully do something that you won’t have seen before on the Eurovision stage.”

The band shared their eagerness to compete and their hopes for victory, saying: “We honestly can’t wait to experience this with all of the other incredible artists from around the world, and hopefully make everyone back at home feel proud. This is really the music World Cup and we’ll do our best to bring it home.
