Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill features in the documentary, sharing his thoughts during the nerve-wracking raid.

After several Navy SEAL officers stormed the house and fatally shot several individuals they encountered, including Bin Laden’s son Hamza, only two officers managed to reach the third floor where Bin Laden had been hiding.

As Robert and his colleague ascended, they noticed movement behind a curtain. Robert recalls: “These could be suicide bombers, but we can beat them, but we’ve gotta go now.”

He added: “I turn this way and standing in front of me, two feet away is Osama Bin Laden.. It was one of those moments in life where things slow down.

“He’s taller than I thought, he’s skinnier than I thought, his beard was grey/white, but I recognised his nose, this is definitely him. He’s not surrendering, he’s a threat, not only to me but to my entire team, he has to die,” Robert disclosed.

Subsequently, Bin Laden was shot in the head and chest, resulting in immediate death. The Navy SEALs secured his body and transported it to Afghanistan for identification.

Following that, they embarked on an over 850-mile journey to the Arabian Sea, where his body was buried in accordance with Islamic traditions. On May 1, 2011, President Obama made a live broadcast announcing Bin Laden’s demise, prompting crowds to gather on the streets of Washington, DC, to hear the news.
