boss is reportedly making contingency plans in the event that leaves the club this summer. Reports in Germany suggest the Reds have made contact with Bayern Munich regarding a potential deal for winger Kingsley Coman. The France international, who has previously been linked with , is preparing to bid farewell to the Bundesliga giants this summer and according to Sky Germany, Coman is a target for amongst other clubs. Coman has been with the German league leaders since 2017 and won the Champions League with the Bavarian outfit in the 2019-20 season. But after previous stints with PSG and Juventus, he is planning to land one final blockbuster move.
The report claims that Coman’s relationship with Bayern is ‘very good and transparent’, and given that he has played a bit-part role under current boss Vincent Kompany, they are willing to let him leave providing their asking price is met. Coman is keen on a move to Saudi Arabia and there may well be reciprocal interest from Pro League clubs. However, could turn his head if they are willing to reach into their pockets. Bayern have ‘set a price’ and are hoping to receive at least £25million, while the forward currently earns an annual salary of £14.5m plus bonuses.
Any agreement will likely depend on Salah, whose days at Anfield look increasingly numbered despite his superstar status and incredible goal contributions under Slot. The Egyptian winger has been in a rich vein of form this season and reflected that with two goals from the penalty spot in their 3-1 comeback victory over Southampton on Saturday.
Salah now has 29 Premier League goals and 17 assists to his name this season, with both records for most goals (36) and the highest number of assists (20) in a single season within touching distance.

However, his future on Merseyside remains uncertain. Salah has just over three months left to run on his current deal worth a reported £350,000 a week and time is clearly running out for the 32-year-old to agree an extension. As there are no current discussions taking place between the club and his agent Ramy Abbas Issa, he is poised to leave as a free agent on June 30.
A move for Coman is unlikely to placate fans, given he has found the net only four times and contributed another four assists in 22 Bundesliga appearances this term. Slot is also thought to be keen on Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo and Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, both of whom hold the advantage over Coman of playing in the Premier League.

That said, Coman is an elite player and his arrival would represent a ‘plug-and-play’ replacement in the event that Salah leaves. He boasts an impressive CV of winning titles, spending the majority of his career at the top level and featuring at the World Cup with France.
And if are unable or unwilling to compromise on a deal with their Kop hero, they could do far worse than capturing the 28-year-old as his successor.
