Frances Tiafoe played an amusing prank on the umpire before his Indian Wells match on Sunday. But the joke may have been on the tennis star after his shock exit to a player ranked 349th in the world. The American star was in good spirits as he arrived on the court, but as he placed his bag down on his chair, he began to rustle around his bag with a bewildered look on his face. The 27-year-old looked around the Indian Wells Tennis Garden with a worried expression, prompting the umpire to step down from his chair and ask Tiafoe what had happened. He claimed he’d forgotten his rackets, which would’ve been the second time in the space of two days. But after a few seconds, he dropped the act and let the official know he was pranking him.
Only two days ago, the world No. 17 incredibly forgot to bring his vital equipment for his second round match against Damir Dzumhur.
