Emmerdale enthusiasts are sure they’ve cracked the case of who is blackmailing Manpreet Sharma. Just lately, the truth of Manpreet’s secret was uncovered as she confided in Ella Forster that she faced blackmail threats over her online photos after joining a subscription website.
Revealing the dilemma to Ella, Manpreet shared how the anonymous tormentor had snagged copies of her images, threatening exposure to her clientele and warning her off involving the authorities.
Following the heart-to-heart, Ella persuaded her to close the account, yet immediately following the deactivation, the blackmailer struck again with the menacing message: “Deleting your profile won’t make a difference” coupled with captures of her profile, adding: “One word to the police and everyone will know your secret.”
Viewers were immediately doubtful of Ella, pointing to her criminal history, but noted that the ominous texts arrived while Ella was sat by Manpreet, suggesting someone else was the true schemer.
Fans flocked to social media with a new suspect in their sights… Manpreet’s past colleague Wendy Posner, notoriously embroiled in her own blackmail scandal before exiting the village and clinic earlier in the year. One sleuthing fan suggested: “I think Manpreet blackmailer is another victim of blackmail. I think it’s Wendy trying to get back at the surgery!” with others echoing the accusation: “Wendy!”
However, others have been speculating that it could be strapped-for-cash Tracy Metcalfe. One viewer suggested: “Tracey who needs money”, while another concurred: “I think Tracey too. Wendy’s left now and I doubt she would do that it’s someone desperate for cash”, reports Leeds Live.

In a dramatic twist for the ITV soap, fans might see Paula Lane’s character Ella make an exit from the village in forthcoming episodes.
Ella, who joined last year, quickly landed a job at the surgery’s reception and was involved with Dr Liam Cavanagh.

It later emerged that she harboured a dark secret, having served time for the death of her childhood friend. Despite being central to some major plots, Paula, aged 38, may be set to depart as Ella, with her Spotlight CV indicating a wrap on filming come February 2025.
Her profile states: “Currently appearing as series regular Ella in ITV filming until February 2025.”
