and star Simon Fisher-Becker has died at the age of 63, his agent has confirmed.
Kim Barry of Jaffrey Management issued a statement paying tribute to the star. “Today I lost not only a client in Simon Fisher-Becker, but a close personal friend of 15 years standing. I shall never forget the phone call I made to him when he was offered the part of Dorium Moldovar in ’s Dr Who.
“Simon was also a writer, a raconteur and a great public speaker. He helped me out enormously and was kind, gracious and interested in everyone. My condolences go to his husband Tony, his brother, nieces and nephews and his legion of fans.”
His husband also share the sad news on Simon’s Facebook page. “Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon’s husband .
“I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon Simon passed away. I’ll be keeping this account open for a while. I’m not sure at this point if I’ll be posting again. Thank you,” he wrote.

Simon’s cause of death has not yet been revealed. He became a sci-fi icon when he was cast as black marketeer Dorium Maldovar in Doctor Who. He was also beloved for his portrayal of ghost The Fat Friar in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001.
Fans were devastated by the news and took to X to pay tribute to the actor. “So sad to hear about the passing of Simon Fisher-Becker aka Dorium Maldovar from #DoctorWho. Thoughts to family and friends. He will be missed. #RIP,” one wrote.
“RIP to Simon Fisher-Becker who played Dorian in @bbcdoctorwho. He was only in a small number of episodes but his role and performances were certainly iconic,” another commented.
A third chimed in: “Oh no, sorry to hear about Simon Fisher-Becker. Loved him in Doctor Who and he seemed such a nice guy. RIP.”
“Simon Fisher-Becker was a lovely person. As an actor he knew the privilege in entertaining others, giving his best be it while acting or while meeting fans. A loss to many, RIP,” a fourth observed.

A fifth added: “I never got to meet him but he seemed such a genuine soul. I’m glad many fans had a positive experience chatting to him. Rest In Peace, Simon Fisher-Becker.”
Meanwhile a sixth said: “Rip to Simon Fisher Becker. He played such an iconic role even if it was a small one. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Barry Collector Con and he was amazing. R.I.P.”
Alongside his iconic roles the veteran performer, had trod the boards with the likes of Paul Scofield and Dame Eileen Atkins, and appeared in classic TV shows including One Foot in the Grave, The Bill and Doctors.
His Doctor Who character the blue-skinned Dorium Moldovar only appeared in series five and six of the rebooted series during Matt Smith’s tenure as The Doctor but he also returned for podcast series Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles and Jenny – The Doctor’s Daughter.
He was Hufflepuff House’s resident ghost in the first Harry Potter film and made an impact in the role despite the ghosts appearance in the film franchise being reduced compared to J.K. Rowling’s source material. He also had a small role in the Oscar-winning 2012 film Les Misérables. He was also a popular figure on social media as a vlogger, and had written several shows and short memoirs about his life and career.
