stars Minah Shannon and Linda Rands have revealed what they believe made them stand out to producers of the hit show as hundreds of thousands of people attempt to get on the next series before applications close on March 28. Last year, over 300,000 hopefuls applied for the BBC show and were whittled down to just 25 who made it on to screens, including Linda and Minah who were both selected as traitors.
Speaking exclusively to the two women, who are working together on a new campaign, revealed what they think was the deciding factor in getting them selected. “I think one thing was I said I was a retired opera singer, and I thought that that was a bit off the wall for them,” Linda pondered. “And secondly, I think I’ve just got a bit of a crazy personality. I’m not the normal 71-year-old. I do crazy things, and I think that just came over. And I just love having fun. I love life. So I think that came over. I think that’s one of the reasons why [I got selected],” she said.

Meanwhile Minah feels her authenticity was key when it came to being selected. “I think being authentically yourself plays a big part,” she said.
“Have so much confidence in yourself and have conviction in what you’re saying. You want anyone who watches any of your tapes or any zooms that you’re on to be convinced by every single word that you say.
“So if you’re not naturally a confident person, which I am, thank God, you need to just fake it and just have heaps and heaps of confidence.
“Believe in what you say and believe in yourself, and believe that you would play a key part to series four Traitors [contestants] I’m sure,” Minah said.

The two women were a huge hit on screens making a gripping double act when they were selected as traitors. They are still in touch off-screen and have been working together on a campaign for Nespresso, which has released a limited edition Oatly Barista Edition Coffee coffee.
It turns out they both are fans of Oatly and don’t drink regular milk in their coffee which Linda admits she found surprising.
“Oh, my God, it was totally crazy [we both love Oatly]. It was amazing. Minah and I got on so well. We were the perfect sisterhood. And it’s lovely.
“I love her, and it was so good to work with her. So it is really, really nice to do that.”
Minah was also thrilled to get to collaborate with her TV co-conspirator once more, saying: “It was really exciting working with Linda and the team and Nespresso and Oatly.”
Nespresso’s Oatly Barista Edition Coffee, is made exclusively for Nespresso Vertuo coffee machines. The capsule is available to purchase and in stores for a limited time only.
