Iconic Fall frontman Mark E Smith died at the age of 60 in 2018 and now the details of his will have been made public.
The singer, who founded post-punk band The Fall in the 1970s, left nothing to Pamela Vander, who served as the band’s manager and described herself as Smith’s “soulmate” in the aftermath of his passing.
Instead, the majority of his £500,000 estate was allocated to his three sisters and his mother, with a neighbour from his local community also receiving a share.
After deducting outstanding debts, expenses, and funeral costs, Smith’s estate was valued at £484,449, with approximately £226,000 generated from the sale of his Prestwich residence.
The will, dated January 24, 2018, just five weeks prior to his death, specified that the proceeds from the house sale should be divided among his sisters, Suzanne, Caroline, and Barbara.

Furthermore, Smith stipulated that the remaining portion of his estate should be split between his mother, Irene, and the neighbour.
The songwriter was married three times, first tying the knot with American guitarist Brix Smith in 1983. He went on to marry Saffron Prior, a woman who had worked for the band’s fan club. However, their union ended in divorce in 1995.
He walked down the aisle with fellow musician and future band member Eleni Poulou in 2001, with his final divorce taking place in 2015. None of his ex-wives, nor Vander received a penny from his estate.
As the frontman of The Fall, a cult figure in the music scene, Smith navigated the band through numerous lineup changes during their 42-year career, releasing a total of 32 studio albums since their inception in the 1970s.

He died following a lengthy battle with lung and kidney cancer in January 2018. Smith was laid to rest at Blackley Crematorium in Manchester just a few weeks later, however, the send off was marred by a ‘brawl’, with bottles being thrown.
“He would have loved it,” his ex-bandmates reflected on the fight at his funeral.
Guitarist Ben Pritchard recounted the disorderly events at the rebellious lead singer’s farewell, saying: “Just about managed to escape with my life from Mark E Smith’s funeral.
“The ceremony itself was nice, touching in places. The wake, however, didn’t last half an hour before bottles were thrown and drinks poured over people. Total disrespect, he’d have loved it.”
