A charming Yorkshire town has left a former pub landlord speechless, as it boasts an astonishing number of bars that even the most seasoned pub crawler couldn’t tackle in one visit. Beer connoisseur Dale Harvey, 44, who has visited thousands of pubs and documents his adventures on his YouTube channel, , alongside partner Holly, recently explored Morley and was blown away by its lively atmosphere.

Dale revealed that prior to his visit, “everyone bigged-up Morley” and upon arrival, he discovered a “nice looking town centre” and an impressive town hall, with the Morley Bottoms area being “saturated with little bars.” During their pub crawl, Dale and Holly managed to visit an impressive 19 establishments, including The Stump Cross Inn, Halfway House, and the Truth Hurts Brewery and Tap, among others. Despite their best efforts, they couldn’t fit in all the bars on their list, Dale said: “A really good little town. Loads (of bars) we’ve not got to – looking forward to coming back.”

Dale finished his visit and said: “Cheers Morley, it was a blast and we will be back soon to visit your other great looking establishments.”

In addition to his pub crawls, Dale also raises awareness regarding challenges within the pub industry, calling on the Government to provide more support to these beloved establishments.

Speaking to Yorkshire Live, he said: “The Government need to do more… for the last 20 years, the government of this country haven’t done enough to help the hospitality industry.

“Now, we can’t turn back time or live in the past… the only government that can now make a difference are the ones in power today.

“If business rates are hiked for breweries as expected, then they will have to charge pubs more for their beer.

“If business rates are then also hiked for pubs, it’s the customer who is hit with two rises in the price of a pint, in an already expensive market.

“These business rate hikes cannot happen or it will be the final nail in the coffin of a number of pubs.”

Dale also called for greater support from large pub companies: “Large pub companies need to support their tenants more and put rents down or at least keep them the same until the industry is more stable.

“Every day a pub is closed costs them more money than a day it is open and trading.”

The Great British Pub Crawl has made waves on YouTube and boasts over 15,000 subscribers.

Dale’s recent pub visits include Holmfirth, Brighouse, Hebden Bridge, and Dewsbury.

On Dewsbury, he remarked that it was ‘nowhere near as bad as people made it out to be’.
