ITV Dancing on Ice star issues statement after being dealt blow hours before final

Coronation Street star Sam Aston has been dealt a crushing blow hours before the Dancing on Ice live final. Sam will compete in the final alongside Michaela Strachan and Anton Ferdinand. But according to the bookmakers’ latest odds, Sam will miss out on winning to Michaela.

According to bookmaker Coral, TV presenter Michaela is the odds-on favourite at 4-7. Sam is second best at 6-4 to lift the trophy, while Anton Ferdinand is a 20-1 outsider.

The latest odds come after Sam released a lengthy statement on about his time on Dancing on Ice. In the snap, the actor was sat in the Dancing on Ice tunnel looking out to the ice rink.

Along with the picture, he wrote: “Heading into the last week feeling super grateful for the experience. And I just want to thank everyone that has got behind me and voted and supported me throughout.

“I feel incredibly lucky. If the show has taught me anything – it’s good to get out your comfort zone and really push yourself. Thanks @dancingonice it’s been a blast! Roll on the final.”

The judges praised them highly, with Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, and Chris Deane awarding them perfect tens, while Jayne Torvill scored slightly lower at 9.5.

Last weekend, Anton landed in the skate-off against TOWIE star Dan Edgar. However, after a tense skate-off, the judges decided to save Anton, meaning Dan missed out on a place in the final.

The judges’ decision left viewers at home divided and even though some agreed with it, others felt like Dan deserved a place in the final.

Dancing on Ice returns tonight at 6.30pm on ITV.
