A expert has shared a little-known while onboard. Elizabeth Wright, a contributor for the specialist website, shared how passengers can request one thing to feel “more refreshed each day” and “more rested” while onboard.
The expert admitted she sometimes wakes up “groggy” when staying in interior cabins because of the pitch-black room, but this tip made her sleep “so soundly” it didn’t even bother her. Even though some ships do not have as many available after the , Elizabeth revealed that while onboard, you can actually request a mattress topper. Getting one is apparently quite simple – she noted that if you arrive on embarkation day and find the bed too hard for your liking, you can simply just ask your steward or attendant for one.

In her experience post-, even though the ship didn’t have any, the cabin-steward still went to great lengths to make sure she had extra padding by adding an extra duvet under her sheets, which transformed her experience.
She said the comforter was “much better” than the regular mattress, adding: “I woke up the second morning feeling more rested than in days. The added comforter allowed me to sleep more soundly and feel refreshed each day.”
Speaking of her she said: “By the end of my 7-night cruise on Wonder of the Seas, I realized just how much better I slept.
“As a result, I woke up more refreshed each day, which was especially important on the world’s third-largest cruise ship. Now, I won’t hesitate to ask for a mattress topper on future cruises.”
Don’t miss… [REPORT]
On a thread titled “Does offer mattress toppers on request? Or can I bring one?”, one user replied: “Definitely ask as soon as you see your room steward. I’ve had success getting one on Independence.
“I’m fine during the first few nights (because I’m exhausted!) but by night three, I’m pretty uncomfortable. They’re not great by any means but the bed will be slightly softer. Feel free to bring one though. I bring my pillow!”
Another added: “I’ve had to request one once, on a cruise but usually my bed is pretty comfy.”
