Get Millie Black has gone down a storm with Channel 4 viewers and now the question on everyone’s lips is whether there will be a second season.
Tamara Lawrance, known for her role in Mr Loverman, takes the lead in this HBO and Channel 4 thriller as former Scotland Yard detective Millie-Jean Black.
She returns to her family roots in Kingston, Jamaica, to work on missing persons cases, but ends up confronting her past.
Having been sent away from her abusive mother and beloved younger brother Orville to live in the UK, she discovers that her brother, now her trans sex worker sister Hibiscus (played by Chyna McQueen), is alive contrary to what she was told over the phone. However, Hibiscus struggles to forgive Millie for leaving.
With the conclusion of Get Millie Black on Channel 4, fans are keen to know if Millie and Hibiscus’ stories will continue into a second season. At the time of writing, there has been no confirmation of a second season for Get Millie Black.

The five-part drama was initially released in the US on HBO late last year and was originally listed as a limited series.
Therefore, it is believed that there will only be one season, although plans can change, as seen with other limited series such as The White Lotus, Big Little Lies and Nobody Wants This.
Get Millie Black, inspired by the eponymous book penned by Marlon James, has the author himself expressing high hopes for its continuation.
Speaking to The Reporter, James shared his anticipation: “I do hope it goes to another season. There are a lot of unfinished stories.”

The show’s protagonist, Lawrance, is already brimming with thoughts on potential developments for a second series.
In conversation with Radio Times, she delved into her character’s psyche: “She [Millie] has to confront some demons.
“If we were to get a season 2, where is Millie’s mental health going to be at?
“What is she going to use to distract herself? Is she going to be somebody that is going to start confronting the things she needs to confront or is there going to be another case that suddenly takes front and centre so that she can avoid all of those things?
“I was left feeling like ‘I hope we get a season 2’ because there are so many more things to explore.”
Get Millie Black is available to watch on Channel 4 and All4.
