Rebecca Holloway, a vile child rapist involved in the “horrific and appalling” abuse of a young girl alongside her partner, has died in prison. The 31 year old from Grimsby was serving a 12-and-a-half-year sentence at Teesside Crown Court since 2020 and passed away on February 13 at Low Newton prison near Durham.

Her co-abuser Oliver Wilson received a staggering 29-and-a-half years behind bars for their joint crimes against the child. Holloway also pleaded guilty to creating and sharing indecent images of children, according to GrimsbyLive.

During Holloway’s sentencing, Judge Paul Watson QC condemned her actions, saying: “You were there encouraging Wilson when he was sexually abusing the girl and you played your part in the vile sexual acts to which she was subjected.”

He added, “You derived perverted sexual pleasure from what he was doing. You were a willing, even enthusiastic, participant in what happened. The full extent of the long-term impact of what you two did to the girl may never be known. But it is clear that it has had a profound effect upon her.”

The judge also highlighted the “depraved and vile” text messages exchanged between Holloway and Wilson, noting one victim’s harrowing experience: “You sexually abused her in a horrific and appalling way. When she was asked how many times she had been raped by you, she could only reply, ‘Lots.'”, reports .

Andrew Bailey, defending Holloway, revealed that she had tragically lost her baby son to cot death in 2015 and encountered Wilson during a period of emotional vulnerability. She had a history of self-harm and was suffering from PTSD due to “repeated traumatic events in her past”.

The Prisons and Probations Ombudsman is set to investigate Holloway’s death and will release its findings in due course. Her next of kin have been notified about her demise.

No additional details have been disclosed. A spokesperson for the Prison Service confirmed: “HMP/YOI Low Newton prisoner Rebecca Holloway died on 13 February. As with all deaths in custody, the Prison and Probation Ombudsman will investigate.”

Holloway admitted to rape, conspiracy to sexually assault children and distributing indecent images – in a case labelled as ‘one of the most distressing ever heard’ at Grimsby Crown Court.

The Mirror previously reported how she was unmasked as a paedophile when police stumbled upon her depraved online chats about serious child sexual abuse. When police visited her home, they found a close-up photo of a girl’s underwear, sex toys and explicit images of children.
