Belgravia: The Next Chapter has returned to ITVX, continuing the tale with a focus on the blossoming romance between Lord Frederick Trenchard and Clara Dunn. Clara is charmed by her new beau, yet there’s more to Frederick than she initially perceives. Haunted by a childhood marred by his father’s emotional neglect and preference for his younger brother James, Frederick’s past traumas linger. Clara is convinced that mending the bond between the siblings will help lower Frederick’s defenses.

However, her life takes an unexpected turn as she forms a bond with the alluring Dr Ellerby, becoming entranced by his unconventional lifestyle. As Clara is seduced by their fervent approach to living, she starts to re-evaluate her societal role. The series shifts its lens to a younger ensemble compared to its predecessor. Writer Helen Edmundson sheds light on this choice: “Following Belgravia, this was the element that I felt was an interesting loose thread that I wanted to pick up on – the idea of leaving the audience with a child that’s been born and the big secret around his parentage.”

She adds, “I wanted us to join Frederick when he was at a stage in his life where he is just beginning to live independently. I also felt that the original series tended to concentrate more on the older characters, and that it might be exciting for us to explore a world with a completely fresh generation who are just starting out in life.” Here is all you need to know about the cast.
