BBC Radio 1 presenter Vick Hope is swapping the airwaves for rural adventures as she prepares to join the ‘s Countryfile team.

The 35-year-old star is all set to grace the screens on Sunday, 9 March, alongside Matt Baker amidst the scenic backdrop of Kielder Forest in Northumberland.

In anticipation of her debut, Vick has expressed her excitement: “I’m delighted to be joining the Countryfile team – spending time in nature has always been hugely important to me, so the chance to learn ever more about the world around us from such beautifully diverse perspectives and such a passionate mix of people who live and breathe country life across the UK will be so special and enriching.”

While Vick, whose full name is Victoria Nwayawu Nwosu-Hope, enjoys maintaining a private life when not in the spotlight, here’s an inside look at the accomplished broadcaster away from her on-screen persona.

Originally hailing from Newcastle, Vick polished her language skills with modern language studies at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge. Not only does she speak French, Spanish, and Portuguese, but her dynamic career began during a university placement abroad in Argentina.

There, she made history as the youngest journalist to join The Argentina Independent and caught the eye of MTV, which catapulted her into showbiz, reports .

Vick’s career has been on an upward trajectory. She hosts shows for renowned radio stations such as Capital, Classic FM, and Radio 1. Her television career boasts appearances on popular programmes like Lorraine, The Voice UK, Pointless, and Crufts. In 2022, she even had her own ITV show, Vick Hope’s Breakfast Show.

The multi-talented presenter is also a gifted writer, contributing to esteemed publications like Marie Claire and Shout magazine. Her first children’s book, Listen Up: Rule the Airwaves, Rule the School, was published in 2020, with a sequel expected soon.

Vick is happily married to DJ Calvin Harris, with their wedding taking place in 2023. Calvin, whose real name is Adam Wiles, proposed just five months into their relationship during a visit to his Ibiza farm.

Four months later, the couple said their vows at the breathtaking Hulne Priory, Alnwick. The festival-themed wedding was attended by celebrities like AJ Odudu, Scott Mills, and Vernon Kay. The memorable day featured a fireworks display and live music performances from Nile Rogers and Chic.

Before settling down with Calvin, Vick was in a relationship with actor Tom Rosenthal for approximately four years. She was then rumoured to be dating Rak-Su star Myles Stephenson while working as a backstage reporter on The X Factor in 2019.

In 2020, there were rumours of a romance between Vick and boxer Anthony Joshua, but this was never confirmed.
