Royal Family ‘prepared sanction removal of Harry and Meghan’s titles’

and Meghan Markle could be at risk of losing their royal title if they make any more critical comments about the royals, according to reports. Despite quitting royal life in 2020, Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, have been allowed to keep hold of their royal titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

A royal source that the Royal Family have reportedly considered a potential sanction which could be enforced if Harry and Meghan publicly slam Harry’s royal relatives again. It is believed an Act of Parliament would be needed to take the Sussex title away from the couple.

, this comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have criticised the family in the past by making damaging allegations, starting with their 2021 TV interview with Oprah Winfrey.

They then made more critical comments in the docuseries Harry and Meghan in 2022, followed by Harry’s memoir Spare in 2023.

While Meghan’s new cooking show “With Love, Meghan” does not critique the royals, it did show why the duchess wants to retain her Sussex title, which could stop the couple from doing anything to further fracture their relationship with Harry’s royal relatives.

Speaking in her cooking show, Meghan told her friend, American actress Mindy Kaling, that she for one key reason.

She told Mindy: “You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children’.

“I didn’t know how meaningful that would be to me, but it just means so much to go, this is our family name, our little family name.”

The duchess also in a candid sit-down interview. She said: “It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognized how meaningful that would be to me until we had children.

“I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
