Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, who is usually critical of the Sussexes, accused the duchess of when living in the UK which came from a “fixation” on trying to have something of similar value to what the Princess of Wales had at the time – who, at the time, was living with in Kensington Palace apartment 1A. Ms Schofield told : “I think that this was Meghan really kind of fixated on what the Princess of Wales [had] and Meghan trying to have something of similar value. Meghan was a Princess who wanted a castle, and she was denied. And I don’t necessarily think that was the wrong decision.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who were eventually evicted from Frogmore Cottage in 2023 – have never commented on these claims.
