Monster Kyle Clifford boasted of buying his assassination kit in a behind bars chat with his killer brother Bradley – who is serving life for a brutal road rage murder. The former soldier subsequently blasted his ex-girlfriend Louise Hunt, 25, and her sister, Hannah, 28, with a crossbow and stabbed their mother, Carol, 61, with a 10-inch butchery knife at their family home in Bushey, Hertfordshire.

Seven years earlier, in August 2017, Clifford’s older brother Bradley, then aged 24, murdered a teenager in a roadrage incident incident whilst driving his £35,000 American muscle-car. The pair remained close with Clifford making twice-monthly prison visits and speaking to him every week, which shocked Louise who told friends that “he doesn’t think Bradley what Bradley did was horrendous.” On July 8th Clifford phoned his brother to tell him that he had bought a crossbow, air rifle and a sword although it is not known if he revealed his true intentions for their use.

The Cliffords grew up in Enfield, north London, where neighbours insist they appeared to be a normal family home – with one expressing shock at how this could happen to “such lovely parents”.

The couple have three sons with two now convicted murderers.

Plumber Bradley Clifford, now 30, ran down Jahshua Francis, 19, and 18-year-old Sobhan Khan in his flashy bright red Ford Mustang after they hit his car with a bottle following a 3am spat

The two were trying to flee on a moped when Bradley crashed into them, catapulting them skywards. Bradley then beat seriously injured Mr Khan as he lay on the ground, punching him hard nine times.

The teenager later died and his post-mortem gave his cause of death as multiple injuries. Mr Francis was rushed to hospital but recovered from his injuries.

During the trial, the jury was told how Bradley became “enraged” when his Mustang EcoBoost’s wing mirror was broken, beginning a “rapid, brutal and unrelenting” chase through the streets of north London.

He was found guilty of murder and attempted GBH with intent. He was given a life sentence with a minimum term of 23 years for the murder of Mr Khan and seven years for the attack on Mr Francis.

One neighbour in Enfield Chase described Kyle as seeming to be a “normal kid” growing up who would walk to school with his mum and pet dogs, whilst another told how the family would attend a local church together. However at secondary school he became involved in bullying other pupils and seemed to be “in awe” of his older brother who was renowned as a “hothead” amongst peers.

And Louise expressed concern about the family’s views, writing herself a note in which she expressed concerns at Clifford being “racist and transphobic” and his father and brother finding violence “funny”.

Clifford left the army after three years serving between 2019 to 2022, where he had been deployed with the Household Cavalry Regiment and then Queen’s Dragoon Guards. He was deeply unpopular with colleagues who were concerned by his propensity to watch graphic and violent videos, with female colleagues branding him misogynistic.

One former colleague said: “Clifford joined the Army in 2019 and I was his Troop Commander from Basic Training. He struggled to grasp basic military concepts but managed to reach the standard to pass out from training.”

After leaving the army he attempted to find work as a security guard but struggled to hold down regular employment. He had a stint working at Amthal, a fire and security installation firm in St Albans, from February 2022 until July 2023. The company said it had had no contact with him since he left.

At the time of his murder he was in dispute with his last employers – Reynolds Catering – who he claimed owed him money. Amongst the search history found on his phone by police was a google check to query “are settlement payments still made if I die?”
