viewers were left seething just minutes into the show after two contestants took the low offer.

The ITV quiz show returned on Thursday (March 6), with welcoming four new players who put their general knowledge to the test.

Facing Paul Sinha, Carol stepped up to the spot to participate in the cash builder. After she answered four questions correctly, Carol’s teammates urged her to stick with this offer and get back to the team.

However, the 60-year-old decided £4,000 wasn’t worth playing for a chose the low offer of £1,000. Explaining her decision to Bradley, Carol said: “I’m going to go for the one. I want to enjoy the whole experience, I want the best chance of getting back there.”

Without answering a question wrong, Carol made it through to the final chase. Viewers were furious by player one taking the low offer, but their anger only intensified when it was Fuad’s turn.

The 30-year-old arrived at the table having answered just two questions correctly in the cash builder. Alongside the £2,000, Paul offered Fuad the chance to play for £50,000 and just £500.

Deliberating, the primary school teacher confessed: “It’s quite a tough decision but I really want to get back to my team so I think I’m going to pick the lower.”

Paul couldn’t resist swiping at the team as he sarcastically quipped: “What an exciting team this is turning out to be.”

This decision was enough to send viewers over the edge as they raced to social media to complain.

One fumed: “No!! £1,000 LOW OFFER TAKEN BY SEAT1!!! Why are ITV still casting useless players who opt for the stupid meaningless Low Offer! Come on now! This has been happening episode by episode recently! When is this nonsense going to stop? This is completely unacceptable!”

“Right that’s it I’m turning off,” declared a second as another wrote: “Take your £500 and shove it up your a**e.”

A fourth furious viewer agreed: “No!!! I actually cannot believe this! £500 LOW OFFER!!! Thats Two in a Row!!! Why do these useless people do this! Just Why? Please stop casting these people who take the LOW Offers ITV! This is too much for everyone to handle! Please make it stop! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!”

Fuad made it through to the final chase, taking the team’s total to a mere £1,500. The third contestant to take on Paul was Victoria, who earned an impressive £7,000 in the cash builder.

The 45-year-old stuck with this offer, but was unfortunately caught by Paul before she could add to the team’s money in the bank.

Anthony was the final contestant to step up, answering just two questions correctly in the cash builder. The Sinnerman couldn’t resist offering the 28-year-old a low offer of -£1,497.

The assistant project manager decided against playing for £1 each and took the high offer of £90,000. After a jaw-dropping head-to-head, in which Paul was one step behind Anthony for almost the entire time, he made it through to the final chase.

“You have saved ITV,” declared Bradley as Anthony joined his teammates, who were now playing for an eye-watering £91,500.
