Disney+ and Hulu have just unleashed their latest comedy sensation for 2025, captivating audiences by releasing all 10 episodes today (Thursday, 6th March).
The series breathes new life into the crime genre with its irreverent tone and side-splitting humour.
All episodes are now up for grabs, making it the perfect binge-worthy candidate for this weekend’s entertainment. Deli Boys follows the journey of Pakistani American siblings Mir (portrayed by Asif Ali) and Raj Dar (Saagar Shaikh), whose father, a wealthy tycoon, led a double life as a narcotics overlord.
After his untimely death in an odd mishap, the brothers stumble upon his hidden criminal realm and find themselves collaborating with their aunt Lucky (Poorna Jagannathan) and uncle Ahmad (Brian George) to continue the family legacy.
Critics are united in their praise, suggesting that the show is a must-watch and could very well be Disney+’s next comedic triumph, filling the void left by hits like Only Murders in the Building and Abbott Elementary.

AV Club has lauded the series, saying “the chaos of Deli Boys is also its charm”, and highlighting Jagannathan’s performance as Lucky, who “steals the show”. They add: “Usually, Muslim characters are relegated to one-dimensional villains or side players in these types of capers.
“Here, with South Asians behind and in front of the camera (including series creator/co-writer Abdullah Saeed), there are no stereotypes about accents, clothes, or traditions to adhere to.
“The 10-episode first season is full of hijinks and heart, centering on fully realised, flawed South Asian protagonists whose culture is seamlessly integrated into the mix.”
Hyphen Online concurs that the series is “one of the most bingeable shows about the Muslim diaspora imaginable”.

Their review continued: “Nothing beats settling into the sofa for something lewd, crude and utterly hilarious. It is with this in mind that I recommend Deli Boys, a 10-part sitcom made for Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.”
If that isn’t endorsement enough, they go on to praise Deli Boy’s other surprising hook: “Despite being a comedy, it is as violent as Final Destination, with characters frequently getting dismembered or coated in gallons of blood.”
Variety agreed the series “puts a fresh spin” on the comedy-crime drama, adding: “The beats of the story may be familiar, but the players and milieu are just unusual enough to hold our attention.
“I can’t recall seeing another fictional drug deal nearly derailed over grievances from the 1947 partition.”

And the Los Angeles Times called it “a quirky and smartly written crime comedy”.
“It’s smartly written, festooned with quirky business, farcical situations, droll asides,” they wrote. “Above all, it’s built on great performances, even in the smallest roles, that ground the wackiness and so make things only funnier.”
