Viewers of The Apprentice were left gobsmacked when one candidate boldly declared a ‘no phone’ policy at a corporate event designed for a leading telecom giant.
During the episode which aired on Thursday (6th March), contestants on the One series were whisked away to Turkey and split into teams, their challenge being to impress big-time clients with an exclusive event.
One squad comprised of Liam, Chisola, Anisa, Emma, Frederick, and Jonny. The group was given the mission to host a celebratory event for Vodafone, in honour of the 40th anniversary of the company’s inaugural phone call.
Their agenda featured a thrilling safari outing followed by a dining experience on a boat. However, Liam was adamant about establishing some fundamental rules before kickoff.
“Right guys, so I’m just going to set the tone for the day. We’re going to call this a ‘no phone zone’,” declared Liam, prompting a wave of displeasure among the guests.

He continued: “I know that you guys are Vodafone and it’s all about connecting people, and you’re all used to having your phones, however this experience is all about connecting with nature and connecting with one another.”
The bold move stirred up a storm on social media as fans of The Apprentice voiced their amusement and incredulity over Liams ‘no phone’ rule during an event celebrating none other than a phone company , reports .
“No phone zone these people will need a distraction from this joke of a hospitality and you’re denying them that. #TheApprentice,” one viewer vented, while another fan of The Apprentice chimed in: “Liam telling clients to turn off their phones what a joke #TheApprentice.”
A third viewer quipped: “Obsessed with hurricane liam forcing them all to turn their phones off for no reason #TheApprentice.”
