Universal credit website down: Thousands unable to access HMRC and Gov.uk pages

The Universal Credit website is down, with thousands of people unable to access Gov.uk and pages.

Downdetector – which allows users to report issues with apps and websites – has reported a huge spike in issues since 5am.

According to the platform, 57% of users have reported problems logging in to their accounts with , while 38% have reported issues with the website. 6% reported having issues with the app.

Of those reporting issues with the Gov.uk website, 62% are having trouble logging in, and 38% are experiencing trouble with the website generally.
