Tom Curry issues ‘dangerous’ warning to England

Tom Curry has warned his England team-mates not to underestimate Italy despite never losing to the Azzurri in the Six Nations.

Speaking on Italy’s 73-24 loss to France, he said: “The scoreline didn’t reflect the game, watching it back. The most dangerous thing is that they are a very good team. I don’t think that changes because of one scoreline against a French team who are very dangerous too.

“The one thing we know about the Six Nations is that one game doesn’t necessarily lead into another game. It is constantly changing. It’s such a fast-moving tournament and with a two-week break between games, they can change things very quickly.”

Welsh coach Jones taunts Scotland

Wales scrummaging coach Adam Jones has laid down the gauntlet to Scotland by saying the pressure is on the hosts this Saturday.

Despite his side’s resurgent display against Ireland last time out, Jones said: “It’s 15 losses on the bounce. There’s no pressure. There’s pressure on Scotland.

“This is probably one of the best sides they’ve ever had, if not the best side they’ve ever had. They’ll be expecting to win pretty comfortably at home against a team that’s lost 15 times in a row.”

Jamie George opens up on Borthwick ‘hurt’

England hooker Jamie George has spoken out on his struggles after being relieved of the England captaincy by Steve Borthwick.

George, set to win his 100th cap this Sunday, said: “It was really challenging, it was really difficult. That hurt, it really did and the first thing on my mind was: ‘Is that me?’

“It wasn’t a two-way conversation with Steve, it was very one-way. I don’t think you can plead your case like a breakup. I wasn’t expecting it but at the same time I understood. Steve has always been clear with me and honest and I have worked with coaches before who haven’t been.

“I was gutted, I was disappointed, I felt like I had a lot more to give but at the same time his decision and who he has picked in Maro, is a fantastic decision.”
