Emmerdale Dr Caitlin Todd star unrecognisable in rival soap 13 years before the Dales

viewers were left stunned after recognising the actress who portrays Dr Caitlin Todd.

The character, played by Caroline Harker, first appeared on the ITV soap in December when Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant), a medical trainee, began his first shift at Hotten General Hospital’s A&E department.

However, this week saw Dr Caitlin Todd return to our screens following last month’s shocking limo crash that claimed the lives of three characters: Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Jacob’s mother, Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).

During Wednesday’s episode (March 5), an emotional Jacob struggled to cope with a critically ill patient and was sent home by Dr Caitlin Todd.

The reappearance of the actress has sparked conversation among fans, many of whom were surprised to realise where they had seen her before.

On an engaging thread, one curious user pondered: “Who played the white-haired Dr Todd in tonight’s episode?” which prompted a swift response from another: “Recently she was in Joan – she was the posh lady they stole the painting from.”

The actress referred to is Caroline, who graced the ITV drama ‘Joan’ as the character Ms Taylor Brown – a woman victimised by art thieves led by Joan, portrayed by Sophie Turner. Caroline, 59, boasts a diverse acting career.
