Metro Vancouver desperately needs more housing.
Local, provincial and federal politicians have talked about ways to fast-track projects and, in some instances, passed laws aimed at fuelling a housing boom.
The B.C. government, for example, legislated increased density and housing targets for municipalities more than a year ago, over the objections of some councils.
The goal was to stabilize prices and boost construction.
