While Carole has not publicly spoken about Kate’s cancer, which is now in remission, it is believed she played a big role in the princess’ life while she received treatment last year.
Living just a short drive away, it is believed both Carole and her husband Michael – Princess Kate’s dad – helped look after Kate and her children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, during this time, alongside Kate’s husband .
As well as helping out around the home, the couple reportedly helped with things such as the school run and keeping the children occupied.
A source close to the Middletons told the Independent at the time: “Carole has been the driving force keeping the family together with minimum fuss and maximum modesty.”
